Margaretha "Gretta" Ehret, born on February 17, 1987, in Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025, after her courageous 6-year battle with metastatic breast cancer, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and dedication. Gretta was a beloved field hockey coach and cherished educator in the Philadelphia area schools, whose influence extended to countless young athletes and students. Her passion for sports was undeniable, beginning with her stellar field hockey career at Penn Charter, earning a place in the school's Athletic Honor Society, and continuing at the University of Pennsylvania, where she played with vigor and grace as a proud Quaker. She captained the Penn field hockey team during her time there, earning All-Ivy honors.

Gretta was more than an accomplished athlete; she was a devoted mother to her daughter, Rosie, and a loving wife to her high school sweetheart, Pat Farrell. Their deep bond was a testament to true love, nurtured over the years with unwavering support and commitment to each other.

She is survived by her parents, Pat and Lori, and her sisters, Whitney and Emilee, who fondly remember her competitive spirit, joyful laughter, and loving heart. Gretta faced life's challenges with remarkable resilience, inspiring all who knew her. Her warmth and compassion will be dearly missed, but her spirit will forever live in the hearts of her family, friends, and the many lives she touched. Gretta, we all thank you for teaching us to "Dream Crazy", forever and beyond.
